The Pfizer Incubator strategic interests
The Pfizer R&D organization has state-of-the-art capabilities that support the largest product pipeline in the pharmaceutical industry. However, it is getting increasingly more difficult and costly to find new drugs. Never before has there been a need for innovative, scientific and technological approaches that could potentially transform pharmaceutical R&D.
The Pfizer Incubator invites innovative ideas for technologies that, if developed, could solve tough scientific and technological challenges facing our industry. These challenges vary in scale and difficulty, some are well known and others could be highlighted by your original insight. Here are some examples:
- novel classes of drug substances (other than small molecules, mAbs, etc.)
- technology for needleless delivery of biotherapeutics
- technology for delivery of biotherapeutics to CNS
- methods for predicting drug efficacy/adverse effects in individual patients
- universal formulation for drugs of all sizes, solubilities and other physical properties
- methods for determination of 3D structure of membrane receptors and proteins
- non-invasive technologies for measuring levels of proteins and metabolites in biological fluids
- simple method for very rapid separation of peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from whole blood and immediate stabilization of RNA from PBMCs for transcriptional profiling (e.g. micro-array and real-time PCR) in clinical setting
- technology for predicting seizures
